The Happy Tail of Fred

At the 4 Paws Society, we love to hear from those who have adopted a dog from us. We consider them "Happy Tails" and post them right here.
If you have adopted from 4 Paws and want to share your story and pictures with us, please do. Below is a copy of an e-mail sent to 4 Paws President Wanda Williams.
Hi, Wanda,
I just wanted to send you an update on Fred.
Fred was still in recovery mode for about a week or so after we adopted him, healing up from his neutering and finishing up his kennel cough medication. He's healed up nicely now, and has so much more spunk than when we first met him! His personality is coming out more and more each day, and his confidence is, too. Betsy has really enjoyed showing him the ropes and they are starting to have fun playing together. They occasionally grumble with each other like siblings will, but they stick close together and have no problems sharing their toys, water, etc. Fred tries to wash Betsy's ears, and I've caught them "spooning" in bed, LOL. Fred makes a lot of really funny corgi noises, including a low rumbling sound when we are petting him that sounds just like purring!
A week after we adopted Fred, we loaded the two dogs and kids into a rental van and headed off for a small family reunion in Estes Park, Colorado. The dogs were wonderful on the whole trip. They were so well behaved in the car and in our rental cabin. I think they enjoyed the cool, mountain air and all of the different sights, smells and sounds. The family reunion was at a picnic ground, and everyone enjoyed meeting Fred and Betsy. Both dogs love meeting new people (and especially kids) so they had a great time! We spent part of an afternoon at the local dog park in Estes Park, and Fred really enjoyed racing around and herding all of the dogs (mainly labs and retrievers). He's amazingly fast--much faster than one would guess by looking at him! He had no problem keeping up with Betsy, and it was fun to see both of their little bunny butts zooming around together as if they were joined at the hip. Well, thanks again for all that you've done for Fred. I hope Foxy and George and all of your other rescues are doing well, too. I've attached a picture of Fred and Betsy from our trip. Take care, Elisabeth and Larry Spector P.S. We're going to a corgi meet up in Houston this weekend, and I hope Fred has a lot of fun!
