The 4 Paws Society is committed to providing hope and love for abandoned animals. We specialize in all-breed dog rescue. We are located in SW Louisiana.
Despite the commitment of animal control/shelter workers to the animals in their care, over 5 million animals are being killed in shelters in the USA each year. We encourage Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana residents to adopt an abandoned animal rather than buy. The question is simple, Why buy while shelter dogs die?
The 4 Paws Society is a non-profit group of non-paid volunteers. Our Mission is:
a) To rescue, rehabilitate and rehome abandoned animals in Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana
b) To prevent cruelty, abuse and neglect of animals in the Lake Area
c) To implement spay/neuter programs that reduce animal overpopulation in our community
d) To ultimately achieve a "No Kill" community through educating, inspiring and collaborating with others to end euthanasia as a means of animal control
Most of our rescued animals come from animal control shelters although some are displaced due to owner surrender. All 4 Paws Society adult animals are spayed and neutered prior to adoption.
All animals offered for adoption have been vaccinated, spayed/neutered, started on heart worm prevention and have received treatment for any medical conditions. Puppies may be adopted with an additional contract to alter the pup when it is old enough.
The 4 Paws Society welcomes new volunteers. There are numerous ways to help us in our efforts. Sponsors and friends are important to help us achieve our commitment to providing hope and love for the abandoned animals.
